Class Description

COMING SCHOOL YEAR 2026-27!!! Age: 7-9 years old 50 minutes per class 2 days per week This ongoing, full-year class blends reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and math into interactive lessons that help learners grow in both skills and confidence. Families can join anytime, and each week stands on its own, making it easy to fit learning into your homeschool routine. In language arts, students explore stories, poems, nonfiction, biographies, and more while building strong reading comprehension and fluency. Writing comes to life through fun and meaningful projects like narratives, opinion pieces, poetry, letters, and creative prompts that encourage kids to share their ideas. Along the way, we strengthen grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, and spelling with weekly practice that supports lasting mastery. In math, learners develop solid number sense and problem-solving skills through hands-on practice with addition and subtraction within 1,000, multiplication and division strategies, fractions, measurement, time, area and perimeter, graphs, and real-world word problems. We focus on helping students understand the “why” behind math so they feel confident tackling new challenges. Each week includes spelling lists, guided lessons, games, discussion, and optional practice at home. Our teachers create a warm, welcoming space where every child feels supported, encouraged, and excited to participate. We balance strong academics with creativity, movement, and fun—because learning sticks best when kids are engaged and happy. Whether your learner joins for a few weeks or the whole year, they’ll build the skills, independence, and confidence they need to thrive in third grade and beyond. All sessions are held through Pencil Spaces, making it easy for families to join from anywhere. Pencil Spaces is also used to post announcements, supply lists, assignments, and helpful resources, as well as to support communication between learners, families, and the teacher, keeping everyone connected and informed for the duration of the subscription.
