Children's Privacy & COPPA Notice

Wild and Unstructured Learning, LLC (WAUL) values the privacy of our learners and their families. This Children's Privacy & COPPA Notice explains what information we collect about learners, how we use that information, and how parents and guardians can manage their child's information.
Parent/Guardian Registration
All WAUL class registrations must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. Learners, including children under 13, do not independently register for WAUL classes or create their own WAUL accounts.
The parent or legal guardian provides the learner's information during the registration process and is responsible for managing the learner's registration and account.
Information We Collect
When a parent or guardian registers a learner for a WAUL class, we may collect the following information about the learner:

Learner's name

Learner's email address, when applicable
We collect this information from the parent or legal guardian rather than asking the learner to provide it independently.
We collect only information that is reasonably necessary to register learners for our classes, place them in appropriate classes, provide access to our online learning services, communicate with families, and manage our educational programs.
How We Use Learner Information
WAUL uses learner information to:

Help teachers identify learners and manage their classes

Provide appropriate class placement based on age or other registration information

We do not sell learner personal information.
Services We Use
WAUL uses trusted third-party services to operate our website, process registrations and payments, provide online classes, and communicate with families.
Wix
Our website and registration/payment system are provided through Wix. Information submitted during registration, including parent/guardian and learner information, may be processed through Wix in order to register learners, process payments, and manage our website and services.
Pencil Spaces
WAUL uses Pencil Spaces to provide our online classroom environment. Learner information may be provided to Pencil Spaces as necessary to create or manage access to classes and provide the online learning experience.
Pencil Spaces is also used to provide class recordings. Recordings are retained by Pencil Spaces for 90 days and are then deleted.
WAUL does not enable optional AI features or other features that collect or process additional learner information when those features are not necessary to provide the class or educational service.
Gmail
WAUL uses Gmail for communication with families and for WAUL business operations. Learner information may be included in communications when reasonably necessary to provide our services.
These service providers may process information on WAUL's behalf in order to provide the services we use. WAUL does not authorize these services to use learner information for purposes unrelated to providing the applicable services.
Class Recordings
WAUL classes may be recorded for educational and class-support purposes, including allowing a learner who was absent to catch up on missed instruction.
When a class is recorded, the recording may contain learner names, voices, video, and participation in the class.
Recordings are made available only through WAUL-approved systems and are not intended for public distribution. WAUL does not intentionally publish learner recordings publicly.
Class recordings are stored through Pencil Spaces and are retained for 90 days, after which they are deleted.
Information Security
WAUL takes reasonable steps to protect learner information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Access to learner information is limited to individuals and service providers who need the information to provide WAUL's educational and administrative services.
No method of transmitting or storing information online can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but WAUL works to use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we maintain.
How Long We Keep Information
WAUL retains learner information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing educational services, maintaining appropriate business and enrollment records, and meeting applicable legal or administrative requirements.
When information is no longer reasonably necessary, WAUL takes reasonable steps to delete or securely dispose of it.
Class recordings are retained for 90 days through Pencil Spaces and are then deleted. Other types of information may have different retention periods based on the purpose for which the information is maintained and any applicable legal or administrative requirements.
Parent/Guardian Rights
Parents and legal guardians may contact WAUL to:

Request information about the personal information we maintain about their child

Request access to their child's information
Withdraw permission for future collection or use of information where applicable -
Request correction of inaccurate information

Request deletion of their child's personal information, where applicable

Ask questions about how their child's information is collected or used

Ask about the third-party services that process their child's information
We may need to take reasonable steps to verify the identity of the person making a request before providing or deleting information.

Please include "Privacy Request" in the subject line when requesting access to or deletion of a child's information.
WAUL will review and respond to privacy requests within a reasonable period and in accordance with applicable law.
Changes to This Notice
WAUL may update this Children's Privacy & COPPA Notice when our information practices, services, or legal requirements change. When changes materially affect how we collect, use, or disclose children's personal information, we will provide appropriate notice to parents or guardians.
This notice should be read together with the WAUL Privacy Policy.
