Class Description

COMING SCHOOL YEAR 2026-27!!! Age: 13-16 years old 50 minutes per class 2 days per week Looking for a supportive, flexible, and engaging way to cover your teen’s core 9th grade learning? This full-year Foundations class blends math, reading, writing, grammar, and spelling into one welcoming, community-style learning space designed especially for homeschooling families. Learners can join at any time during the year, or stay with us for the full journey. Each week includes interactive English and math lessons, a spelling list, guided practice, and optional homework with personalized teacher feedback. But more importantly, our classes are active, social, and fun — because learning sticks best when kids feel comfortable, connected, and curious. In Literacy, students explore engaging stories and literature from around the world (myths, poetry, short stories, and drama), practice grammar and vocabulary in meaningful ways, and grow as writers through creative pieces, essays, speeches, and projects. In Math, we tackle Algebra 1 concepts step-by-step with plenty of support and real-life applications — graphing lines, solving equations, working with systems, polynomials, quadratics, and more — all in ways that feel approachable and doable. Our goal isn’t just academics — it’s helping teens feel capable, supported, and excited to learn. This is a place where questions are welcomed, mistakes are part of learning, and every student belongs. Come build strong foundations with us! All sessions are held through Pencil Spaces, making it easy for families to join from anywhere. Pencil Spaces is also used to post announcements, supply lists, assignments, and helpful resources, as well as to support communication between learners, families, and the teacher, keeping everyone connected and informed for the duration of the subscription.
