Class Description
Age: 7-10 years old 50 minutes Get ready to splash into science! In this fun and interactive one-time online class, young learners will discover the amazing journey water takes around our planet — from clouds to rain to rivers and back again. Perfect for curious kids ages 7–11, this high-energy class turns big science ideas into simple, hands-on discoveries. Together, we’ll explore how water changes forms, travels through nature, and plays an important role in our everyday lives — from the rain outside our window to the water we drink each day. Through lively discussion, visual demonstrations, and a cool at-home experiment, learners won’t just hear about the water cycle… they’ll see it happen right in front of them! What We’ll Do in Class * Learn about evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection * Discover how water changes from liquid to gas to solid * Talk about how weather and the water cycle affect daily life * Create a simple mini “water cycle in a jar” experiment * Draw and label their own colorful water cycle diagram * Share ideas and observations with classmates in a friendly, supportive space Our teachers create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child feels comfortable asking questions, participating, and exploring. Expect lots of movement, conversation, and “wow!” moments along the way. Supplies Needed * Empty glass jar (like a jelly jar) * Paper plate or bowl * Ice * Hot water * Paper and crayons/markers for drawing By the end of class, learners will understand that water is always on an adventure — and they’ll never look at rain clouds the same way again! This class meets live online for one session, offering learners a focused and engaging learning experience in a single meeting. The session is held via Pencil Spaces, making it easy for families to join from anywhere. Pencil Spaces is used to post announcements, supply lists, and any helpful resources, as well as to support communication between learners, families, and the teacher before and after class, so everyone feels prepared and connected.
