Class Description

COMING SCHOOL YEAR 2026-27!!! Age: 9-11 years old 50 minutes, 2 days/week Price: $34.50 This ongoing, full-year class brings together reading, writing, spelling, and math in a way that feels interactive, encouraging, and fun. Learners can join at any time and stay as long as they’d like, since topics rotate throughout the year for plenty of review and fresh practice. In language arts, students dive into exciting stories and texts including realistic and historical fiction, fantasy, science fiction, poetry, mythology, biographies, and more. Writing is creative and meaningful, with learners crafting short stories, personal narratives, persuasive essays, descriptive pieces, letters, book reviews, and even poetry and fairy tales. Weekly spelling and grammar practice help strengthen everyday writing skills while building confidence. Math lessons focus on understanding how numbers really work through hands-on activities, games, and real-life problem solving. Students explore fractions and decimals, coordinate grids, geometry, volume, exponents, expressions, and multi-step word problems while learning strategies that make tricky concepts feel manageable and clear. Each class is lively and interactive, filled with discussions, practice, and supportive guidance from caring teachers. We create a friendly, inclusive environment where every learner feels comfortable participating, asking questions, and growing at their own pace. By the end of their time with us, students will have strengthened core fifth grade skills, built independence, and gained the confidence they need for the next step in their education journey—all while actually enjoying the process. All sessions are held through Pencil Spaces, making it easy for families to join from anywhere. Pencil Spaces is also used to post announcements, supply lists, assignments, and helpful resources, as well as to support communication between learners, families, and the teacher, keeping everyone connected and informed for the duration of the subscription.
