Class Description

COMING SCHOOL YEAR 2026-27!!! Age: 9-11 years old 1 hour 1 day per week Step into Curious Calculators, where 5th graders tackle numbers, patterns, and real-world problems with curiosity and confidence! This year-long class makes math an adventure, helping learners build strong skills while seeing how math connects to the world around them. Throughout the year, students explore exciting topics like fractions and decimals, multi-digit multiplication and division, exponents, coordinate grids, geometry with 2D and 3D shapes, volume, and order of operations. They also solve real-world problems, work with numerical patterns, and interpret graphs and data — developing both their math fluency and critical thinking along the way. Classes are interactive, hands-on, and full of fun. Students play games, work together on challenges, explore visual models, and tackle problem-solving activities that make math meaningful and memorable. Each lesson balances guided instruction with opportunities for independent exploration, and teachers provide supportive feedback, answer questions, and celebrate every student’s progress. This ongoing class offers flexibility for families — learners may join at any time and continue through the year, revisiting and reinforcing concepts as they grow. By the end of the year, students will have mastered the full 5th grade math curriculum, gained confidence in tackling challenging problems, and discovered that math can be exciting, approachable, and even fun!
