Class Description

Ongoing Enrollment • Project-Based • Inclusive • Hands-On COMING SCHOOL YEAR 2026-27!!! Age: 13-16 years old 1 hour per class 4 days per week Welcome to a high school experience that feels engaging, supportive, and actually enjoyable — not overwhelming or overly formal. Our 9th Grade Discovery Academy is a full-year, ongoing program created especially for homeschooling families who want structure and flexibility, strong academics and connection. We blend hands-on projects, discussions, creative activities, and real-world learning so teens stay curious, confident, and involved. Throughout the year, students explore a rich mix of subjects including Algebra 1, Biology, writing and literature, spelling and grammar, civics, economics, and world geography — all woven together in meaningful, approachable ways. One day they might be solving equations or graphing lines, the next they’re exploring cells and how they function, writing myths and essays, learning how government works, or practicing real-life skills like budgeting, map reading, and decision making. Our classes feel warm and welcoming, with plenty of time for questions, collaboration, and friendship. Teachers offer encouragement, guidance, and personalized feedback so every learner feels supported. We meet teens where they are and help them grow academically, socially, and confidently — without pressure or busywork. This is more than “school.” It’s a place to discover strengths, build skills, make friends, and love learning again. All sessions are held live online through Pencil Spaces, making it easy for families to join from anywhere. We also use Pencil Spaces to share assignments, weekly spelling lists, announcements, and helpful resources, ensuring families stay connected and informed throughout the year.
