Class Description

COMING SCHOOL YEAR 2026-27! Age: 12-15 years old 50 minutes per day 2 days per week Welcome to a full year of growth, confidence, & meaningful learning! Our 8th Grade Learning Adventure blends English, math, & spelling into interactive, engaging lessons that challenge students while keeping learning fun, supportive, and approachable. Throughout the year, learners explore a rich mix of reading, writing, grammar, & vocabulary, diving into poetry, drama, nonfiction, biographies, short stories, & articles while discovering literary tools like figurative language, symbolism, tone, & theme. Writing comes alive through narratives, persuasive & argumentative essays, research projects, creative pieces, & poetry, helping students strengthen their voice & communicate their ideas with clarity & confidence. Weekly spelling & word study (including Latin & Greek roots) build strong vocabulary that carries across every subject. In math, students develop solid pre-algebra foundations through hands-on practice & real-world problem solving. We tackle topics like integers, fractions & decimals, exponents, scientific notation, solving equations & inequalities, ratios & proportions, geometry, the Pythagorean Theorem, & systems of equations, building both skills & understanding step by step. Our goal is to help math feel logical, useful, & achievable. Classes are lively and welcoming, filled with discussions, games, collaborative activities, and creative projects that keep learners connected and engaged. Teachers provide regular feedback, encouragement, and extra support when needed, creating an inclusive space where every student feels comfortable participating and growing. Whether your learner joins us for a few weeks or the whole year, they’ll build strong academic skills, independence, and confidence — all while being part of a positive learning community.
