Class Description

COMING SCHOOL YEAR 2026-27!!! Age: 8-10 years old 50 minutes per class 2 days per week This ongoing, full-year class weaves together reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and math into interactive lessons that help learners grow in both skills and confidence. Families can jump in at any time, and topics rotate throughout the year, making it easy to join when it works best for you. In language arts, students explore a wide variety of texts—short stories, nonfiction articles, poetry, fables, novels, and more—while strengthening reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. Writing is creative and meaningful, with projects like personal narratives, biographies, essays, persuasive pieces, and poetry. Along the way, learners build strong grammar and spelling foundations through sentence structure, parts of speech, punctuation, and weekly spelling practice that supports everyday writing success. In math, we focus on helping students truly understand how numbers work. Learners build confidence with multiplication and division, fractions and decimals, measurement, area and perimeter, geometry, graphs, and multi-step word problems. Through games, discussions, and real-life applications, math becomes something students can explain, explore, and enjoy — not just memorize. Each week includes spelling lists, guided lessons, hands-on activities, and optional practice at home. Teachers provide encouragement and feedback while creating a warm, inclusive space where every child feels valued and supported. We blend strong academics with creativity, collaboration, and fun — because learning sticks best when kids are engaged and excited. Whether your learner joins for a few weeks or the entire year, they’ll build the knowledge, independence, and confidence they need to thrive in fourth grade and beyond. All sessions are held through Pencil Spaces, making it easy for families to join from anywhere. Pencil Spaces is also used to post announcements, supply lists, assignments, and helpful resources, as well as to support communication between learners, families, and the teacher, keeping everyone connected and informed for the duration of the subscription.
