Upcoming Sessions
Class Description
COMING SCHOOL YEAR 2026-27!!! Age: 6-8 years old 50 minutes per class 2 days per week This ongoing class blends reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and math into fun, interactive lessons that help learners grow in skill and confidence all year long. Families can jump in anytime, and each week stands on its own, making it easy to fit learning into your schedule. In language arts, students strengthen their reading fluency with phonics and sight words while exploring stories, poems, fables, and nonfiction texts. They practice comprehension skills like finding the main idea, making predictions, and connecting ideas. Writing activities include sentences, paragraphs, personal narratives, descriptive pieces, poetry, and simple reports. Grammar and spelling are woven in naturally as learners build vocabulary, sentence structure, punctuation, and clear communication skills. In math, students develop strong number sense and problem-solving strategies through hands-on practice with place value, addition and subtraction (with regrouping), money, time, measurement, fractions, shapes, graphs, and real-world word problems. We encourage kids to explain their thinking, play math games, and apply skills to everyday situations so learning feels meaningful and fun. Each week includes a new spelling list, guided math and ELA lessons, games, discussions, and optional practice at home. Our teachers provide encouragement, gentle guidance, and personalized feedback so every child feels supported. Most importantly, we create a warm, inclusive classroom where learners can ask questions, make friends, and truly enjoy learning. This class is perfect for families looking for a flexible, complete second grade program that builds strong foundations while keeping kids curious, confident, and excited to learn.
