Class Description
Literature Study • Engaging Discussions • Creative Projects Price: $90 (approx. GBP 67.13) Age: 13-18 years old 50 minutes per class meets once a week for 8 weeks Step into the whimsical and inspiring world of Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli! This 8-week literature study is perfect for high school learners who love stories that spark imagination, thoughtful conversation, and creativity. Together, we’ll explore the unforgettable characters, thought-provoking themes, and heartfelt moments of this modern classic, all while building reading, discussion, and creative skills. Each week, students will dive into the story through interactive discussions, hands-on projects, and creative writing assignments. Learners are encouraged to note their favorite quotes, characters, and moments from the book, which will guide meaningful conversations and inspire personal expression. Themes like individuality, kindness, and the courage to be yourself will be explored in fun, engaging ways. Projects may include: * Character Profiles: Explore Stargirl, Leo, and other characters, tracking their growth, motivations, and relationships. * Stargirl-Inspired Journals: Write your own journal entries in the whimsical style of Stargirl, reflecting on experiences and acts of kindness. * Artistic Expression: Create visual art or hands-on projects inspired by the story’s themes, encouraging creativity and personal connection. Through this literature study, learners will gain confidence in expressing ideas, analyzing texts, and connecting with others in a supportive, inclusive environment. By the end of the class, students will not only have a deeper understanding of Stargirl, but also their own creative projects and reflections to share and celebrate. Note: Students should have their own copy of Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli to participate fully in reading, discussion, and creative projects. All sessions are held via Pencil Spaces, making it easy for families to join from anywhere. Reading assignments, project details, discussion questions, and helpful resources will be posted there as well. Pencil Spaces is also used for communication between learners, families, and the teacher, helping everyone stay connected and supported throughout the course.


Cancellation Policy
All of Wild and Unstructured Learning's online classes have a minimum enrollment requirement of 2 learners to run. If a class does not have 2 learners, it will be canceled and a refund will be issued. Classes are eligible for full refunds up to 48 hours before the start of the class.
