Class Description

Interactive Literature Study • Critical Thinking • Engaging Discussions Price: $127.50 (approx. GBP 95.10) Age: 9-12 years old 1 hour per class meets once a week for 10 meetings Join us for a heartfelt and engaging literature adventure as we explore Wonder by R.J. Palacio together! This welcoming class invites learners to dive into a powerful story about kindness, courage, friendship, and finding your place in the world. Through guided discussions, creative activities, and thoughtful writing, students will connect deeply with the characters and themes that make this novel so meaningful for young readers and families alike. Each week, learners will read short, manageable chapters at home and then meet for a lively, supportive class filled with conversation, reflection, and fun learning activities. During class, students will: * Explore character choices and motivations * Identify conflicts and how they are resolved * Follow the plot as the story develops * Discover important themes and meaningful symbols * Share ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another Alongside reading, learners will also grow as writers! With gentle guidance and encouragement, students will work on short essays and creative responses focused on big ideas from the story, such as: * How kindness can change lives * Finding hope during hard moments * Showing perseverance when things feel tough * How to write thoughtful responses to literature Reading Schedule (Completed at Home) Week 1: Chapters 1–12 Week 2: Chapters 13–24 Week 3: Chapters 25–36 Week 4: Chapters 37–48 Week 5: Chapters 49–60 Week 6: Chapters 61–72 Week 7: Chapters 73–84 Week 8: Chapters 85–96 Week 9: Chapters 97–108 Week 10: Chapters 109–121 This is more than a book study — it’s a chance to grow as readers, writers, and kind-hearted humans while enjoying an unforgettable story together. We can’t wait to explore Wonder with your learner! Book clubs meet live online once a week, providing learners with a consistent and engaging space to discuss their reading and share ideas. All sessions are held via Pencil Spaces, making it easy for families to join from anywhere. Reading assignments, project details, discussion questions, and helpful resources will be posted there as well. Pencil Spaces is also used for communication between learners, families, and the teacher, helping everyone stay connected and supported throughout the course.


Cancellation Policy

All of Wild and Unstructured Learning's online classes have a minimum enrollment requirement of 2 learners to run. If a class does not have 2 learners, it will be canceled and a refund will be issued. Classes are eligible for full refunds up to 48 hours before the start of the class.
